iPod dock vs line in?

I just bought a home theatre system, and one of the options is an iPod dock, which I didn't buy.

Tech_Woman is right, there is no difference in fidelity. Sometimes when a dock is used, there is more functionality such as the remote can control skipping forward/backward, the iPod Screen and Menus can be seen on the TV, etc.

Getting A Dish Hdtv Satellite Receiver

As one of the first to offer satellite TV in the US, the Dish Network has also been among the pioneers in offering HDTV programming. Dish provides satellite television and audio service over the US and is under the supervision of parent company, EchoStar Communications Corporation. Dish was launched in 1996 and is based in Englewood, Colorado.

Dish's HD roots

Dish Network initially used an 18-inch satellite dish when it launched its HDTV service. Dish is now using a 20-inch satellite dubbed Dish 500, which enables subscribers to receive satellite locations at around the same time. The company is also using larges dishes (SuperDish and Dish 1000) to improve the reception of HD-broadcasts from three satellite locations.

The Dish 1000 gets signals from satellites at 110°W, 119°W, and 129°W, while the two SuperDish's gets feeds from119°W, 110°W, and 105°W and 119°W, 110°W, and 121°W.

SuperDish and Dish 1000 have become more important over the past year, as the company is steadily increasing the number of programs available in HD. Dish is hopeful that it can improve its offerings for national and local US television network stations and international programming.

Dish's satellite receivers

Question about recording/editing audio...software and hardware.?

I recorded parts of a song on my keyboard, and want to edit on my computer with Audacity.

I've used Audacity to record quick demo CDs for bands so it certainly has the quality for good recording..
It's not what you've got but how you use it.

Any attenuation (reduction in signal strength) over a short run of cable would not be perceivable.

An unbalanced, high impedance cable under six feet in length will not pick up any noticeable audio interference.
Balanced, low impedance cables are generally only used for longer microphone runs of cable.

Using the headphone out from the keyboard select line in from the input section list in Audacity even though you may only have a mic in jack. The headphone out signal is high impedance and needs to be matched to the input level. The mic in setting is low impedance so a mismatch will certainly cause distortion and problems matching levels.
The output level from the keyboard then needs to be matched with the recording level in the program to produce a distortion free recording.
The loudest peaks of the waveform should be just within the upper and lower boundaries of the waveform window.

99.9% of a good recording is how it's recorded rather than what with.
Been doing it for 25+ years.

Trial and error is your friend.
There's no such thing as plug and play with recording.

HELP!! Problem with Video in my new gaming rig.?

Well i assembled my new gaming rig and i turned on the power. I didn't see any video at all but my monitor led which turns yellow when it detects a signal turned yellow?? Im using a Male Dvi-D connector and here are my specs

Could be many things, wrong connections. etc

Have you tested your Power Supply to make sure it works. I know alot of these come dead from factory. are you sure the p/s unit is big enough to run this rig. ie the amperage high enough.

If you have onboard video I would suggest trying that. Take out the vid card.

Are you sure the machines booting properly, Good memory. Do you have a speaker, does it beep.

Did you hook up all the sata plugs properly. sata0 sata1 should go Hard Drive into sata0 dvd into sata1. That might be stopping the machine from booting.

many things, try taking the machine apart and have only the mobo, cpu, ram on. plug in the speaker and see if you get a beep. If not, take the memory out and see if your machine beeps like crazy at you.

You have what is called a single port mustang it has a 3.8L V6 engine. If you do that it will free up some horsepower like 5hp maybe and it will make it sound a little bit better.
