The new Sony VAIO model laptop has opened up new avenues in the field of technology. Coming with latest features and advanced technology, this model ensures the users of perfect results.

The new Sony VAIO laptop, with its stunning features and charismatic characteristics have helped the model in invading the minds of users. VAIO, the acronym for Video Audio Integrated Operation, is a sub-brand for Sony, the electronic giant.

The branding was done by Sony to distinguish items that encompassed the usage of consumer audio and video, as well as being conventional computing products. Sony was a big name in the Japanese computer market in the 1980s, but left the field in the end of the decade. Its re-entry to the computer market, this time globally, was in 1996 with a new brand name VAIO with the PCV series of desktops. The VAIO logo of the brand which became a big hit represents the integration of analog and digital technology. The 'VA' represents an analog wave and the 'IO' represents digital binary code.

Sony plans to expand the use of the VAIO label. Among its new products include notebooks, sub notebooks, desktops and a hard-disk-based audio player that comes in both 20GB and 40GB variations. The network media solutions by Sony will also carry the brand name VAIO. High-end Sony VAIO notebooks usually get shipped with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium or Business, while low-end laptops such as the N series come with Microsoft Vista Home Basic. VAIO computers come with components from Intel processors, Seagate technology or Fujitsu hard drives and Sony Speakers.

The recent models from Sony VAIO, such as the TX or SZ, have implemented the LED backlit XBRITE LCD, that further enhance the power saving and accurate color reproduction capability of the LCD unit. The VAIO SZ series features both an Intel GMA950 graphics chip and an NVIDIA graphics chip. The high-end AR Series VAIOs were the first models to incorporate a Blu-ray Disc burner. These laptops were designed to be the epitome of high-definition products including a 1080p capable WUXGA (1920 × 1200 pixels) screen, HDMI output and the aforementioned Blu-ray burner. The AR series also includes an illuminated logo below the screen.

Why does my Video Adapter read as 9400 when I i have a gtx 260m?

I recently bought a alienware m17x and my specs are suppose to be :

Where are you checking? Is this on the packing list, in Control panel or some diagnostic program like SIW or CPU-Z?

It's possible they screwed up and installed the wrong card, but I'd download SIW and see what it says first.

What type of Office Projector?

There are three types of projector technologies available on the market. DLP (Digital Light Processing) and LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) are the most widely available technologies, whilst LCoS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) is a more recent technology that is becoming more popular.

DLP and LCD have few differences. DLP projectors are subject to the ‘rainbow effect’. This is due to the colour wheel they use to generate an image. This effect means that a very small amount of people will see flashes of solid colour. Faster colour wheels have reduced this substantially. DLP projectors can be a little awkward about where they are placed relative to the screen. LCD projectors are easier to place but also come with their own difficulties. LCD can suffer from ‘screen door effect’, the images sometimes look as though you are looking through a mesh panel. Experts tend to prefer DLP projectors as the black levels and contrast give a better cinematic picture but LCD projectors have a small price advantage.

The other type of Office Projector is LCoS. This is a newer technology than either DLP or LCD and is becoming increasingly popular. The LCoS technology has neither ‘rainbow effect’ nor ‘screen door effect’ and gives outstanding picture quality. However, it does tend to be more expensive than either DLP or LCD.

Another thing to look at is the resolution of the digital projector. SVGA (800p x 600p) and XGA (1024p x 768p) are the most popular. The XGA gives better, sharper text and graphics. SVGA is still available and cheaper than XGA and would give perfectly adequate pictures for the usual PowerPoint presentation. With the increase in wide screen laptops, the resolutions that fit them have changed. WVGA resolution (854p x 480p) matches that of DVD movies. There are other resolutions of similar size that come under the umbrella of WVGA. Many widescreen business projectors have WXGA resolution that matches many 14-15inch laptops. SXGA+ matches the larger computer screens and laptops over 17 inches.

Brightness is measured in lumens and basically, the larger the room the more lumens are required. Contrast ratio for most graphics and text is fine at 400:1 but for movies needs to be more than 1000:1.

Lamps can be quite expensive and they do need to be replaced periodically. Not surprisingly the lamps are rarely covered under the warranty for more than 90 days.

Portability of your Office Projector is something to be considered. Projectors generally weigh about 2-3 pounds but can go up to around 10 pounds.

unless you are connecting with an Hdmi Cable you have to run a separate cable from the Audio Jack on the back of the computer to the TV with an Rca Cable...

How come my display wont come back after I left my laptop for hours?

I have a 10 month old laptop running on win xp MDC, 18gb available HD space remaining , 700+ mb of ram... Power saving options set to turn off Monitor and HD after 15 and 30 min respectively....after hours of leaving my laptop, the display wont come back even by using my Usb Mouse and keyboard although I can hear sounds that its waking up.... waited for a minute or so...

The Cost of a New LCD Screen Than a New Phone

Nowadays, phones are being updated all the time. Some phones are cheaper than others and sometimes the parts, like internal LCDs are more expensive than a cheaper end phone is to buy.

As there are so many phones coming out all the time, the LCD range that is stocked needs to cover the majority of these models. An ever increasing selection of mobile phone LCD screens are now available to the public.

Often, people will ask why one would want to change the broken LCD screen and not just buy a new phone? Well, firstly, the LCD price represents the price of the phone it is for.

An example being, If a phone cost £50 new, an LCD for that phone would be available for around £15 whereas a £100 phones LCD screen would more likely cost about £35. So it is always going to be a cheaper option to replace the LCD than the phone. Nowadays, some phones cost up to £500 when purchased sim free. The LCDs again, reflect this and can cost up to £180 or more. So, you may think that for the price of a new LCD, you can get a new phone for, right? Right, but it would not be the same phone as it costs £500 to replace that model. People would rather spend x amount on repairing the current phone they have than spending the money on a new phone instead as the phone would be inferior to the broken phone. Not many people step down a model in a phone, like many other things in life, like a car, the desired model normally inclines rather than declines.

The fact that LCD's are getting easier to fit with the correct tools openly available, many people are buying the parts needed and fixing the phone themselves rather than pay a qualified engineer to do the job and being without the phone whilst the work is carried out.

The majority of people with a high end phone would have bought it with an airtime contract from a network provider. The phones cost is heavily subsidised by the network when taken with a contract. So many people are unaware of the true cost or value of the phone if it needed to be replaced because it was free with a contract via a network. So when it needs a new LCD screen replaced, these people often suggest that its not worth spending money on as it was free. Then they learn that to replace the phone like for like it would cost £200, a new LCD for £55 is better than any new £55 phone would be.

Many people find that they would rather repair the mobile phones LCD over buying a new phone because they have finally just got used to using it and it's now discontinued so it's hard to find an exact replacement and the thought of learning another mobile phone set up, just not appeal to them.

Other people need to repair the current phone that just has a broken LCD, as they have all their contacts stored on the phone so its vital to get the phone working again, even if it is just to retrieve the data stored on the phone. This data is often priceless information and if it's a toss up between losing the data or spending £100 plus for a new LCD part then its often £100 or so well spent. As if you were unable to get the information then you would have lost numbers of people you would never get again.

The price of LCDs do drop as do the phone prices themselves. As a new phone comes out, the older model drops in price, so do the parts for it drop accordingly.

I can recommend a couple of items available to help out if such an event happens to you, firstly though, I feel that the most important thing to do is always keep a backup of your phone book. There is a range of SIM card back up devices available. Some copy from SIM card to a small stand alone device where no PC is needed. You can then put in a new sim card and copy all the entries over to the new sim card. Other devices come with PC software that can be linked up to a PC and entry details can be edited on the PC. This would be a better option as more data can be stored on here like calendar entries and text messages.
Other options include PC suite software and connectivity cable or a Bluetooth dongle with a Data suite software.

Windows Xp What i have done so far: I have changed Lcd Monitors - no help, I have updated drivers for the monitor and the graphics card - no help. look in the control panel , in system ,advanced, in performance and settings, then in the visual effects tab, look for boxes that have checks in the show shadows. uncheck what not wanted.
