I want to know where I can get parts to repair a shower screen?

I have a hinged glass screen which fits over the bath. I can buy a new seal to go along the bottom edge but nobody seems to sell any way of sealing the back edge against the tiles or fixing plates.
I could easily get a whole new screen at a reasonable price but this one has a picture etched onto it and I can't replace it.

You'll be lucky if you found what you needed at a big store like Home Depot or the like.
Go to a shower and glass specialist.
They'll be able to get the parts if they don't have them on-hand already.

Upgrading Compaq Memory

Compaq is one of the larger and more popular manufacturers of personal computers. The parts required for a Compaq memory upgrade are widely available and, especially over the last couple of years, have continually gone down in price. Performing a Compaq computer RAM upgrade can extend the useful life of the computer by making it possible for the machine to open and work with larger programs and files. The upgrade essentially increases the amount of "scratch space" the computer has to work with and allows it to multitask at a faster and smoother rate with fewer errors and lock-ups.

Compaq computer memory will vary a bit depending on what model is being upgraded but it is essentially the same from one machine to another in the broadest elements. Kensington memory, Samsung memory and the products of several different third-party manufacturers can be used or one may use OEM equipment. Compaq computer memory will essentially snap into place once one finds the correct slot and removes the existing memory from the machine. This process is much easier and faster than most users tend to believe and anyone who is reasonably comfortable with their computer and who has a screwdriver can perform this task.

The Compaq RAM upgrade consists of nothing more technical than taking out one component and swapping it for another. The new memory will be inserted into the computer's motherboard in the exact same place as was the old memory. Compaq computer memory will not fit into a motherboard for which it is not designed. The RAM component will have a notch and two or three sections of connector strip at the point where it is mounted into the motherboard. These notches are placed at different points on different types of memory to prevent users from installing the incorrect memory in their machine.

The brand name chosen is entirely up to the user. There may be slight differences between the offerings of different manufacturers. Some users also have a preference for one reason or another; choosing Kensington memory over Samsung memory, for instance. While such users will definitely be happy to reveal their reasons for preferring one brand over another, all of the third-party manufacturers tend to stand behind their products and for every devotee of a particular brand one can find a devotee of another. Oftentimes, price is the most important deciding factor for users.

The Compaq memory upgrade process should only take a few minutes. Most of that time will be spent disassembling and reassembling the case. The actual swapping out of the memory should only take a few seconds. Given that this simple and inexpensive process can add a significant amount of service life to the machine, performing a Compaq RAM upgrade is almost always a good option. The cost of components has decreased considerably over recent years and that makes it a good time to consider this procedure. It's a great way to make one's computer last a bit longer than expected!

How would i install a ata-100 (seagate 300gb) Hard Drive into a computer that came with a Sata Hard drive?

the computer is a Compaq Presario SR1910NX and the computer supports sata through the motherboard not a Pci Card. I want to use this drive as a second drive. The only way i see how is the use the second connector on the Ribbon Cable that goes to my cd drive

Yup you are right. The same ribbon cable like on your cd rom. You can put 2 devices on each cable so if yours has only one connector. Get a ribbon cable with 2 connectors. Look on your motherboard and see if theres a connector for another cable also. Be sure to set the drives to master and slave or you can set them both to cable select (CS) After you put in the hard drive you need to open your BIOS and find the IDE Master and Slave, click on the one the hard drive is on and it will auto detect the drive. Then exit saving changes.

How to Clean an LCD Screen

Cleaning a liquid crystal display (LCD) screen sounds like it should be a fairly straightforward thing to do, however there are some things you should know about properly cleaning your LCD screen. For starters, and LCD screen is unlike the old fashioned television screens, and is not produced using glass. Therefore, some precautions must be observed when cleaning the display.

1) Purchase a proper cleaning solution/kit.

Though you may decide to skip this step, I suggest purchasing a proper LCD cleaning solution and/or kit. Many manufacturers have created specially formulated solutions for cleaning LCD display screens for desktop and laptop monitors. If you can find a kit, I would use that as it already has a soft cloth in it, as well as the solution. Depending on the manufacturer, I have found very desireable results from cleaning gummy/dusty LCD screens with a purchased product over a homemade cleaning solution. The manufacturers products also seem to have good evaporative properties, which ties in with not accidently getting the cleaning solution inside of the LCD unit.

2) Use a soft cloth.

It may sound like a simple step, but many people will just grab whatever they can find to clean the screen. Due to the material used for LCD screens, especially those that have a glossy (shiny) finish, cloth that is not soft may put abrasive marks onto your screen. This is very undesirable, and will greatly reduce the quality of images on your LCD screen.

3) Do not use a window cleaning solution!

Many people will tell you that they have used Windex to clean their LCD screens, and that they have never run into troubles with it. Windex, and other window cleaning solutions will eventually start to wreak your screen. Another reason not to use these types of solutions is that they are usually quite runny, and are made that way to cover large areas. This is not what we want for our LCD screens, as some of the liquid, if used alot, may seep into the edges of the screen, and cause distortion of colors on the screen, or short-circuit the electronic components.

4) Proper techniques for applying cleaning solution.

This bit is important because you will not want to have left over residue or streaks after you just cleaned your LCD screen! Lots of people have different techniques, however, the one that seems to work for me, when I cleaned the LCD screens at the computer store I worked at was to wipe in a circular motion. I've noticed that when some of the others cleaning wiped from left to right, or vertically, that it left some bad residue in corners and streaks that were very visible. If you wipe in a small circular motion, getting into the corners and going over the screen a couple times, you should have no residue left, and you will not notice streaks. It is exactly like buffing your car, or boots, etc. You do not need to apply alot of pressure, but you should make sure that you spend a good 3-5 minutes on your computer/laptop screen, and probably a bit more for larger LCD TV screens.

I need to output an HD signal (1080p) from a PC to multiple HD LCD screens, what is the optimal wiring?

I know HDMI has a maximum of 60 FT (I need around 200 FT, maybe more) to wire a big establishment, multiple screens! So obviously I need to also split them somehow, I thought about Cable monitors(Vga Cables), but not sure about the feasibility!! Any ideas?

This is done all the time in commercial installations. There are several ways to go about it - none of them are cheap.

You will need a HDMI distribution amp - this will convert one output to four (Kramer KR-VM4HDMI):

The closer TV's may be able to use a long Hdmi Cable. If not, you will need HDMI to CAT 5 converters for each TV (Gefen HDMICAT5-MS):

As you can see this is going to get expensive. The cheaper way may be to get an HD cable box for each TV and then you would only be running cheap RG6 cable from your source (cable TV, satt or whatever).

There are many other options too - but if you insist on full HD at each TV from one source, it will get expensive.

Many business call in a commercial AV company to do these types of jobs - it will cost you, but it may be worth it in the end.

Office 2007 Tutorial - The 10 New Office 2007 Screen Elements That You Must Know

This article introduces you the 10 new Office 2007 screen elements that you can easily found on the Office 2007 programs.

1. Office Button

It is that large, round control in the upper-left corner of some of Office 2007 applications. It offers basics such as New, Open, and Save commands, along with some newcomers, like Prepare and Publish.

2. Ribbon

The bar across the top of the window that contains tabbed pages of commands and icons. The ribbon consists of:

• Tab such as Home, Insert, etc. Every tab contains several groups and every group has its own command icons.
• Group: A section of a tab. For example, the Home tab has the following groups: Clipboard, Font, Paragraph, Styles, and Editing.
• Dialog box launcher: A small icon in the bottom-right corner of a group, from which you can open a dialog box related to that group.

3. Tabs and contextual tabs

Each tab corresponds to a task. For example, in Word, the Home tab contains the most commonly used writing tools, such as the font formatting options and style options.

The contextual tabs will appear depending on what you're working on. For example, if you insert a chart in Excel, the Chart Tools tab will appear, with Design, Layout, and Format subtabs.

4.      The Quick Access Toolbar

It is located right beside the Office Button. By default it contains 3 buttons but you can customize the toolbar to include other buttons.

5. Mini Toolbar

The Mini toolbar is a set of formatting tools that appears when you first select text. It is not context sensitive and always contains the identical set of formatting tools.

6. Galleries

A gallery is a set of thumbnail graphics that represent a set of formatting options that you can apply to various elements in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access 2007. Examples include table styles, chart styles, and PowerPoint themes.

7. Live Preview

It is a feature that works together with the styles in a gallery to let you preview the results of formatting choices. So you can flit from one choice to another and try on the various sets of formatting without committing to anything until you're ready.

8. KeyTips

KeyTips designed to serve as keyboard accelerators to access various items on the Ribbon. Just press the ALT key and then you press the appropriate additional keys as indicated by the KeyTips labels.

9. Enhanced ScreenTips

It gives some explanations on the icons in the Ribbon as well as the keyboard shortcut for the particular icon. Just move the mouse pointer over icons and you'll see it.

10. Status Bar

The bar display at the bottom of the document screen. The bar offers options such as a Zoom slider for magnification and view options (Print Layout, Outline, Draft, etc.).

Getting Your First LCD and Then Some

For a color on a pixel to get activated in an Lcd Monitor, a current runs through the crystals to change its state and produce color. The response time is the amount of time the crystals in the panel take for them to move to an on state from an off state. The rising response time is the amount of time it takes for the crystals to turn on, and the falling time is the time it takes for the crystals to move to an off state from an on state. The rising time tends to be very fast on Lcd Monitors, but the falling time is usually slower, causing a blurred effect on vivid, moving images on black backgrounds. The lower the reseponse time, the lower the blurred effect on the monitor. Today, response times also refer to the gray to gray rating that produces a lower speed than the traditional response time.

LCD monitors produce the image through a film with a current running through the pixels. This current activates the shades of color on the pixel. The problem with LCD films is that the colors are only accurately shown when the screen is viewed straight on. When the viewer is looking at it from a perpendicular angle, the colors tend to look washed out. The quality of LCD monitors is rated according to their vertical and horizontal viewing angles. The rating is done in degrees, using the arc of a semicircle with its center perpendicular to the LCD monitor. A 180-degree viewing angle means that the LCD monitor can be viewed from any angle in front of the screen. Higher viewing angles are generally preferred over lower angles.

LCD monitors can only display a single resolution, which is called a native resolution. The native resolution is the physical number of the vertical and horizontal pixels that the LCD matrix display is composed of. When an Lcd Computer display is set at a resolution lower than the native resolution, the monitor will use only a visible area or it will need to do extrapolation. Extrapolation is when multiple pixels are blended together to come out with a similar image to what would be displayed if the monitor were to were to show it at the given resolution. However, this can result in fuzzy image quality. Some common native resolutions are 1024×768 for 14-15″ monitors and 1920×1200 for 24″ widescreen monitors.

What makes LCD display monitors different from the traditional CRT monitors is that actual screen dimensions are used to market LCD monitors. This is the screen's displayable area, from the upper corner to the lower corner of the display. The aspect ratio of the screen is one of the more confusing parts about understanding LCD monitors. Most people are used to CRT displays, which has a 4:3 ratio of vertical to horizontal measurement. LCD screens, however, are marketed as wide screen displays, which looks at the diagonal measurement. However, its aspect ratio is still very similar to the wide screen TV's 16:9 display. Make sure you look at the horizontal and vertical measurements as well as the aspect ratio of the LCD screen.

HiColor Technology has been successfully developed by AUO using CCFL backlights to increase color saturation by 33% as compared to conventional LCD screens. Following the latest development trend in LEDs, AUO developed HiColor using RGB LED backlights, which can reach 105% NTSC while providing natural performance of red, green and blue lights and enabling rich, bright, and vivid display colors.

AUO also developed several techniques to improve LED backlights' image performance. For instance, Color Management eliminates artificial color caused by inconsistencies between the signal and the light source. The intensity of the RGB LEDs can be changed using the Flexible Color Temperature Setting without losing luminance. Other advantages of HiColor Technology includes instant light, mercury and lead free, low temperature start, faster response time, and vibration and shock safe.

the screen is REALLY dim, like, its black, BUT i can barely see what im doing, the lcd backlight went out.

This is your best bet for the part you need..
You should be able to find the backlight or even the inverter here as well..I think ur LCD screen is okay...
Personally, if it were me..I would order from a reputable company than from ebay but..That's just me..
