When my MacBook is hooked up to my TV, why is it in Widescreen mode with black bars on my TV?

I have mirroring turned on and have messed with resolution and aspect ratio settings on the macbook with no luck. I have also auto adjusted the picture on my TV. It is hooked up through the mini-DVI to Vga Adapter. My TV is Vizio VO420E and I have the black macbook. Any suggestions?

Your MacBook is widescreen, so it's always going to have the bars on the TV as long as mirroring is on. If you turn it to Extended Desktop Mode you can set the 2nd monitor to a different ratio, but when in mirroring it's always going to be ""letterbox" - there isn't a way around it.

Touch Screen Monitors

Touch screen monitors are a device by which we give inputs and take outputs as information without using any other external device. Instead of using a keyboard or mouse.

A touch screen is a display which can detect the presence and location of a touch within the display area. The term generally refers to touch or contact to the display of the device by a finger or hand. Touch screens can also sense other passive objects, such as a stylus.

The touch screen has two main qualities. First, it allows you to interact with what is displayed directly on the screen, where it is displayed, rather than indirectly with a mouse (computing) or touchpad. Secondly, it lets one do so without requiring any intermediate device, again, such as a stylus that needs to be held in the hand.

Touch screen monitors are used in a variety of different applications including POS (point of sale) cash registers, PDA's (personal digital assistants), ATM's, car navigation screens, cell phones, gaming consoles and any other type of appliance that requires you to input and receive information.

Types of technology available in Touch Screen. The commonly used are underneath: -

Resistive Touch monitors

A resistive touch screen monitor usually has a coat of very thin electrically conductive and resistive layer of metal. When pressed, the change in electrical current can be measured and the input processed by a computer. While very affordable they only offer about 75% clarity, they can also be easily damaged by objects that are sharp. Resistive touch screen monitors are the most popular types of touch screen monitors used today. They are usually not effected by dust or liquids which make them very reliable.

Surface Wave Touch Screen Monitors

Surface wave touch screen monitors use ultrasonic waves to process inputs from the screen. Ultrasonic waves flow over the touch screen, when a person touches the pad at a specific location, the wave is absorbed and immediately processed by the computer. While not as common as resistive touch panels, they are used in certain applications. Dust and water can contaminate a surface wave touch screen so it is important to keep the screens properly maintained.

Capacitive Touch Screen Monitors

Capacitive touch screens are coated with indium tin oxide. This material provides a continuous current across the screen. The current is precisely controlled throughout the touch pad and can be measured by the computer processor, when touched; the screen is able to send the processor specific coordinates to input information correctly. It is important to note that specific objects can only be used on capacitive touch screens. You can not use a stylus or a pencil for instance; usually you will need a bare finger. Capacitive touch screens have high clarity and are not affected by dust or liquids.

Infrared Touch Screen Monitors

There are two types of Infrared touch screen monitor screens, the first reacts to infrared or thermal waves (heat), unfortunately this technology is slow and does not work well with cold hands or objects. The second type of Infrared touch screen monitors use vertical and horizontal infrared sensors around the perimeter of the touch screen. Creating a grid, the touch screen is able to pinpoint the exact location of where the screen has been touched and send that information to the computer for processing. Infrared touch screen monitors are very durable and are used for industrial and military applications.

There are many different types of touch screen technology available. The most common types include: Resistive, Surface Wave, Capacitive and Infrared.

How can I move the taskbar from the right of the screen back to the bottom of the screen?

The blue taskbar and the start button somehow switched to the side of the screen on my computer.I dont know if I mistakenly pushed the wrong button or what But I need help with placing it back at the bottom of the page.If anyone know anything about the options for the taskbar,Please Help?

Click on the bar (any clear space not occupied by a button) and then you can drag it back the bottom.

If this doesn't work then you need to unlock the taskbar. To do this right-click on the bar, and then deselect the "Lock Toolbar option"

Product Review -- The Jen Fe Fat Diet Patches From Nexagen

When I first heard about the Jen Fe Fat Loss Diet Patches from Nexagen, I was skeptical. I don't believe in miracle weight loss cures and short-cuts. I believe in healthy weight loss by lifestyle changes. And I know that there are lots of diet scams and useless diet aid out there, giving false hope and wasting people's time and hard earned money.

But people all around me who had tried unsucessfully to lose weight and change to a healthier lifestyle and diet, were suddenly losing weight. Not only were they dropping several pounds a week, but they had extra energy (without being jittery) and were even sleeping better. What was going on? I began to do some research. ( I don't recommend a product without a lot of thought and research!)

Here is what I found...

First I was skeptical that a transdermal patch would even work to get a substance through the skin and into the body. But I learned that the skin is actually a permeable organ that allows some things to enter the body, while blocking other. Some substances that the skin especially likes to pass on to the body are fat-soluble substances such as vitamins A, D, E, and K, as well as steroid hormones such as estrogen. Pharmaceutical companies use this knowledge to find ways to make patches that will deliver medication into the body through the skin. The substances enter the bloodstream through the capillary networks in the skin, and spread throughout the body.

The medical community is becoming excited about patches, since they give a constant amount of medication, instead of dumping in too much and letting it wear off, then doing it again, the way oral medication works. Patches are now being used to deliver a number of therapeutic drugs. These include estrogen, scopolamine (motion sickness), nitroglycerin (heart problems), and nicotine (for those trying to quit smoking).

I became convinced that patches, in general, can and do work. So the question is now whether the substances the patch is sending into the body are effective or not. Where Can you Find Ink for your Dell Printer?

With regards its performance, there is nothing to complain about when it comes to the Dell printer. Any model of the Dell printer can deliver documents, graphics and photo prints with great quality and High Resolution. The problem comes whenever the ink of your Dell printer runs out. If you need new Dell ink cartridges for your printer, you would have to call the Dell hotline to ask them to deliver ink to your home, or you would have to order ink cartridges from the Dell website.

But that was before, in the decades past. Recently, Dell is seen to be making an effort to expand its reach by making its products, including the Dell printer ink, available in retail stores. This is perhaps a response to the growing number of complaints that owners of the Dell printer have regarding the fact that Dell ink cartridges are not available for sail in retail stores and must be ordered from the Dell hotline itself.

Staples to Sell Dell Ink

So far, however, only the Staples stores have an agreement with Dell to sell Dell printer ink. This agreement, so far, is exclusive for all the Staples stores all over the United States. Users of Dell printers, be it the All-in-One models, the inkjet printers or the laser printers, can trek to the Staple store nearest them to get their Dell ink cartridges whenever they need new ones.

Naturally, Dell would continue selling their own ink for Dell printers on their own website. These Dell ink cartridges from the Dell website do not vary a lot in price from those sold in Staples stores, but on the Dell website, the Dell ink cartridges can come in packages that may have more value for consumer money.

Online Ink Sellers Selling Dell Ink

Aside from the online and retail stores of Staples and the Dell website, owners of the Dell printer can get their ink from online ink sellers like Printcountry.com. Many of these online ink sellers have agreements with Dell to sell Dell ink on their own websites.

If you are an owner of a Dell printer and you are looking into buying new Dell ink cartridges from these websites, you have to be extra careful, though. Repackaged printer ink can be used for your Dell printer, but you have to be sure that your repackaged Dell printer ink is of good quality and truly compatible with your Dell printer. If you cannot get your hands on genuine Dell ink for your printer, then you should at least get compatible Dell printer ink that is of High Quality and coming from a reliable online ink seller.
